Your information, explained
Reading an article, saving a lesson and sending an enquiry are different things. This notice explains what each involves and how to ask about your information.

Who runs the site
Millie runs One Eye on AI and is responsible for deciding how the information described here is used. For privacy questions, email hello@oneeyeonai.com.
This notice covers this public website, its free learning activities, newsletter signup and enquiries.
When you read the site
You do not need an account to read the articles, browse the library or use the free lessons. The website does not load advertising or analytics tags.
Delivering and protecting a website still involves technical request information, such as an IP address, the page requested and browser information. Vercel hosts the site and may process technical logs for delivery, reliability and security. The purpose is to provide and protect the service, on the basis of legitimate interests.
Newsletter signup also uses temporary checks in server memory to limit repeated requests and misuse. These include a hashed IP address and a submission reference. They are not a learning account or a permanent record of newsletter consent.
Your learning and check answers
Practice writing and starting-check answers stay in the page while you use it. They are not sent to an AI service for marking. Practice feedback is written guidance, and any mark as practised is your own record.
If you choose saved learning, this browser can store your written answers and progress on this device. This is optional and relies on your choice. It is not sent to Millie or synchronised to an account. Another person using the same browser may be able to read it.
The cookies and saved learning page explains the controls and how to clear saved work. Turning saving off does not stop you practising on the current page.
Business-check answers also stay in the page until you choose to include them with an enquiry. Answers linked to your name or email are not anonymous.
If you choose the newsletter
The signup asks for your email address and a separate agreement to receive the newsletter. Your address is sent to Beehiiv to manage the subscription. The lawful basis for sending the newsletter is your consent.
The form also sends the place you signed up, such as the footer, and a request reference to this website. The website asks for email confirmation and does not restart a previously cancelled subscription. If the provider cannot confirm the request, the website will not automatically try again.
Follow the confirmation instructions in your inbox. A message on this website alone does not prove that your subscription is active. You can withdraw newsletter consent using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter email, or contact Millie for help.
Newsletter emails and provider pages are separate from this website. The email provider may record delivery information, opens and link clicks. Opens may be measured using a small image in the email; privacy tools and security scanners can affect these signals, so an open does not prove that you read it. Newsletter links can also include campaign labels to identify where a visit came from. Ask Millie about the settings for One Eye on AI.
Beehiiv’s data-processing terms cover information it handles for publishers. Its privacy policy describes processing it carries out for its own purposes. The saved-learning setting does not control email measurement or unsubscribe you from the newsletter.
If you ask for help or email me
For website-service requests, read the website enquiry privacy notice. The website-service form currently prepares a draft on your device. It does not submit your details to an online inbox or send an email. You can copy or download the draft and send it using your own email app.
The optional business enquiry sends your name, email, message, and any business name or general area you add to a private owner inbox. Your answers go with it only if you choose to include them.
These details are used to read and reply to your request, on the basis of legitimate interests in handling an enquiry you initiated. They are not put into AI tools, published, or used to sign you up to the newsletter, marketing or a course.
Read the business enquiry privacy notice for the full form-specific detail. An enquiry does not book a visit or authorise access to your systems.
If you email Millie directly, the message and contact details you choose to include are used to deal with that correspondence. Please leave out passwords, identity documents and other people’s private information unless a suitable way to share them has been agreed.
The services involved
- Vercel hosts the website and handles web requests.
- Google Firebase Firestore stores business enquiries in the private owner inbox.
- Beehiiv handles or retains newsletter subscription records.
These providers may process information outside the UK. The linked privacy information and data-processing terms give their general arrangements. Ask Millie about the processing locations and safeguards relevant to your information.
If you follow a link to an AI tool or another website, that service’s privacy rules apply there. Choosing a tool on this site does not give it access to your learning answers.
How long information stays
- Saved learning stays in this browser until you explicitly clear it or the browser removes its site data. The separate storage-choice record is valid for 180 days. Expiry stops saved learning being read or updated until you choose again; it does not erase earlier writing.
- Business enquiries receive a manual review after 90 days. That is not an automatic deletion deadline. If details are still needed, the reason and next review date are recorded in the private inbox.
- Newsletter records are used to manage the subscription and respect unsubscribe choices. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; it does not necessarily erase every provider record. Ask Millie if you want information removed as well.
- Other correspondence is kept as needed to resolve the request and retain any necessary follow-up or legal record. Hosting and email-provider logs follow the relevant provider’s retention arrangements.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, erasure or restriction of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Data portability may also apply. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Email hello@oneeyeonai.com and explain what you need. You do not have to use a special form. Millie may need enough information to confirm that the request is yours, without asking for more than is necessary.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office. If this notice changes, the updated date will change too.
